Terms of Service — PLCPro Academy

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PLCPro Academy mobile application ("the App"), developed and operated by AS Automation Services & AS Automation Systems Training Centre PLT ("ASAS MY", "we", "us", or "our"), based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. About PLCPro Academy

PLCPro Academy is a mobile learning platform for industrial automation, covering PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI (Human Machine Interface), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) technologies. The App provides:

• Structured lessons & quizzes across 8 PLC brands: Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Schneider, Keyence, WEG, and Fuji
• PLC & HMI model reference databases with detailed specifications
• Programming guides (ladder logic, structured text, function blocks, and more)
• Hardware & software troubleshooting guides
• Video tutorials (YouTube-linked)
• Software Install Assist — a storefront for purchasing PLC/HMI software installation services and video courses
• Suppliers & Shops directory (Premium feature)
• Achievement badges & learning streaks
• Bookmarks; and bilingual support (English and Bahasa Malaysia)

2. User Accounts & Identity

PLCPro Academy does not require registration or login. A random, anonymous Device ID (UUID) is generated on first launch and is used to sync your progress, bookmarks, and subscription status. No personal information (name, email, phone) is collected.

Important: If you uninstall the App or clear app data, your Device ID and all local progress (lessons, quizzes, badges, streaks, bookmarks) will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered.

3. Free Tier & Premium Subscription

3.1 Free Tier

All users can access the App for free, including basic lessons and quizzes across all 8 PLC brands, reference databases, programming and troubleshooting guides, video tutorials, learning streaks, badges, and bookmarks. Advertisements (banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads) are displayed to free users.

3.2 Premium Tier

Premium subscribers enjoy:

• Ad-free experience — all banner and interstitial advertisements are removed
• Unlock all Advanced lessons & quizzes across every brand
• Full access to the Suppliers & Shops directory
• 50% OFF all Install items (Software + Video Courses) — Annual plan only

3.3 Badge Rewards

Users who complete all badges within a category earn +1 month of free premium. Premium time from badge rewards is added automatically and stacks with any existing subscription.

3.4 Rewarded Ads (Optional)

Free-tier users may choose to watch an optional rewarded video advertisement to unlock a temporary ad-free period within the App. Watching rewarded ads is entirely voluntary.

4. Subscription Billing, Renewal & Cancellation

• Premium subscriptions are purchased and billed through Google Play using Google Play Billing.
• Payment is charged to your Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Google Play Store → Subscriptions.
• Cancelling stops future renewals; you retain premium access until the end of the current paid period.
• The App does not process or store any payment-card information — all payment handling is performed by Google Play.
• Except where required by law or by Google Play policy, subscription fees already charged are non-refundable.

5. Software Install Assist (Store)

5.1 Overview

The App features a Software Install Assist section (the "Store") where users can browse and purchase PLC/HMI software installation services and video courses offered by ASAS MY. These Store purchases are separate from the Google Play premium subscription and are completed through external platforms.

5.2 How It Works

• Products are listed with descriptions, pricing, and purchase links
• Purchases are completed through external platforms (Shopee store or WhatsApp direct)
• After payment, users provide an email address (1 email = 1 user access) for download-link delivery
• Software is delivered via PCloud (password-protected download links)

5.3 Installation Methods

Two options are available for most products: DIY (install yourself using the provided video guide) and Install Assist (remote support via AnyDesk / Microsoft Teams).

5.4 System Requirements

Each product lists specific system requirements. Customers must verify their system meets the requirements before purchasing. Buyers must use a personal PC/laptop with full administrator rights (no company-managed devices).

No Refunds (Store items): All software purchases are final and non-refundable once the download link is delivered. Software is tested and verified to work; any issues after delivery are considered system-related.

5.5 Software Usage Disclaimer

All software sold through the Store is recommended for personal or student use only. Any misuse is solely the buyer's responsibility. ASAS MY is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original software manufacturers.

6. Advertisements

Free-tier users are shown advertisements delivered through Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads). To serve and measure ads, AdMob uses your device's Advertising ID. Premium subscribers see no ads. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

7. Educational Content

All educational content is provided "as is" for educational purposes only. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Content should not be used as a sole reference for safety-critical industrial systems — always refer to official manufacturer documentation for production or safety-critical applications. Brand names, trademarks, and logos are the property of their respective owners; PLCPro Academy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies.

8. Acceptable Use

• Use the App for lawful purposes only
• Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
• Do not attempt to circumvent premium features or ad-display mechanisms
• Do not use automated bots or scrapers to extract content
• Do not redistribute, copy, or resell any content, lessons, quizzes, or guides
• Do not impersonate ASAS MY or misrepresent your affiliation with us

9. Intellectual Property

All original content in the App is the intellectual property of ASAS MY. The PLCPro Academy name, logo, and branding are owned by ASAS MY. Third-party brand names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any App content without written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind; ASAS MY shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App; ASAS MY is not liable for data loss resulting from device changes, app uninstallation, or technical issues; and ASAS MY is not responsible for third-party content or services linked from the App (including YouTube, Shopee, WhatsApp, and Google).

11. Third-Party Links & Services

The App contains links to external services including YouTube (video playback), Shopee (software purchases), WhatsApp (support), PCloud (download delivery), AnyDesk / Microsoft Teams (remote installation), and Google Play / Google AdMob (subscriptions and ads). These services have their own terms and privacy policies, for which ASAS MY is not responsible.

12. App Updates & Availability

We may release updates that add, modify, or remove features. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time without prior notice, and are not liable for any such change.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for any device that violates these Terms. Upon termination, access to premium features may be revoked; no refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period (except as required by Google Play policy or law); and your local data remains on your device unless you uninstall the App.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
